4. Offer the tray to your dog at their mouth height.
5. Return any leftover water to the bottle and close it.

Hot-weather walks

On hot days, walk early in the morning or late in the evening, when pavements are cooler. Test the ground with the back of your hand; if it is too hot for you, it is too hot for paws. Bring the bottle every time, rest in the shade and offer water at every stop. Short-nosed breeds and older dogs feel the heat sooner, so keep their walks shorter.
