Description

Watch where your cat chooses to sleep. Under the bed. Inside the wardrobe. In the box the new kettle came in. Cats look for a roof and walls, and an open cushion in the middle of the room is rarely their first choice.

This cat tent bed gives them the den they keep looking for. A fabric tent on a light frame shades the inside, and a cushion turns the floor into a bed. It looks like a small piece of furniture in your room, and to your cat it is the safest spot in the house.

Purpose: a cat tent bed for cats who sleep in hidden corners

A cat in the open stays alert. A cat with a roof over its head can relax. That is why so many cats ignore the expensive open bed and sleep in a cardboard box instead.

The tent shape blocks out the room. The sides cut the light and the roof covers your cat from above. The opening lets them watch the room. Many cats settle in within days.

A den that looks good in your room

A cardboard box works, but it is not a look most people want to keep. The tent gives your cat the same feeling of cover in a shape that sits neatly in a corner. Choose a cherry print or a calm green.

Materials & make: how the cat tent bed is built

The bed is a fabric tent stretched over a frame, with a cushion on the floor. The frame keeps the roof up, so the tent does not sag onto your cat. The cushion lifts out for washing.

Three styles

Cherry print, light green or dark green. The cherry print has a tall, peaked shape. The green styles are a little wider and lower; check the size chart for each.

Measuring a curled-up cat

Wait until your cat is asleep in their usual curled position. Measure the widest part of the curl, from back to front paws, and add 5–10 cm (2–4 in). Choose the size whose floor measurement covers that number.

Where to put the tent

Choose a quiet corner, with the opening facing the room so your cat can watch from inside. Keep it away from the litter box and the food bowls. In winter, a spot near a radiator works well.

Helping your cat move in

Put the tent where your cat already likes to nap, not where you would like them to nap. Add a blanket or a worn T-shirt so it smells familiar, and drop a few treats on the cushion. Give it a few days. Cats often explore a new bed at night, when the house is quiet and nobody is watching.

The day it is for

A lazy Sunday afternoon. Sun on the floor, the house quiet, and your cat stretched inside the tent with only a tail and two paws showing. When the doorbell rings, they pull the paws in and stay put, watching from the shade instead of bolting under the bed.

Care

  • Remove the cushion and wash it by hand in cool water.
  • Wipe the tent fabric with a damp cloth.
  • Vacuum fur from inside the tent with a brush attachment.
  • Let everything air dry fully before putting the cushion back.

Questions about the cat tent bed

Do cats like tent beds?

Many do. A tent gives cats a roof and walls with a view of the room, which is what they look for in boxes and wardrobes. Put it in a quiet corner and add a familiar blanket to help.

Which size should I choose?

Measure your pet curled up and add a few centimetres. M suits most cats. Choose L or XL for larger cats or very small dogs, and check the size chart for your style.

Is the cushion included?

Yes. A cushion sits inside the tent and lifts out for hand washing.

Can a small dog use it?

Very small dogs fit the L and XL sizes. Measure your dog curled up and make sure they can turn around inside.

How do I clean a cat tent bed?

Take out the cushion and hand wash it in cool water. Wipe the tent fabric with a damp cloth and vacuum any fur inside. Let everything dry fully.
