A hunting ground for indoor cats. Peepholes for stalking and pouncing, and it opens flat into a mat when the game is over.
Description
Indoor cats have a hunter’s brain and a living room to use it in. Without somewhere to stalk and ambush, that energy goes into your ankles at 3 a.m. or the curtains at dusk.
This cat tunnel gives them a hunting ground. Round peepholes along the felt let your cat watch from cover, poke a paw through and pounce. Fasten it into a tube for play, or open it flat as a mat when the game is over. It costs you nothing but floor space, and your ankles get a rest.
Purpose: a cat tunnel for indoor hunting games
Cats stalk, then pounce. Outdoors they do it in long grass. Indoors they need something to hide behind, and a tunnel is the simplest answer. Your cat can crouch inside and watch through a peephole. Then they launch out at a toy, which is close to a real hunt.
A tired cat is a calmer cat. Ten minutes of tunnel play before dinner often settles the evening zoomies.
Peepholes turn a tube into a game
A plain tunnel is something to run through. With peepholes, it becomes something to play in. Your cat sees a feather pass a hole and reaches through for it. Two cats can play together, one inside, one outside, batting at each other through the gaps.

Materials & make: how the felt tunnel works
The tunnel is a single panel of 5 mm felt in two colours, one on each side. It fastens along the edge to form a tube and opens flat again in seconds. Felt holds its shape, so the tunnel stands on its own without a wire frame.
Open flat, the same panel works as a play mat or a resting pad by the window. Fold it away when you need the floor back.
Three colour pairs
Green and brown, beige and navy, or navy and yellow. The inside and outside colours differ, so the tunnel looks different when you open it flat.

Fit: where the cat tunnel works best
Sizing: One size, about 92 × 22 cm (36.2 × 8.7 in) as a flat panel. It suits kittens and adult cats, and small dogs too.
Good matches
- Indoor cats with energy to burn
- Homes with two cats who like to play together
- Kittens learning to stalk and pounce
Where to use something else
Large cats who like to lie stretched out inside a tunnel may find it narrow. Use it as a play tunnel rather than a bed for them.
How to play with it
- Set the tunnel along a wall or a sofa so it does not roll.
- Drag a wand toy slowly past the peepholes.
- Let your cat catch the toy now and then, so the game stays rewarding.
- End with a treat and leave the tunnel out for solo play.
Keeping play interesting
Cats get bored with toys that never change. Move the tunnel to a new room every week, or fold it into a different shape against the sofa. Hide a treat or a small ball inside before your cat wakes up. A tunnel that turns up somewhere new feels like a new toy, and it costs nothing.
The day it is for
A rainy afternoon. One cat is inside the tunnel, the other is outside, and a feather wand twitches past the third peephole. A paw shoots out. The game runs until both cats are flat on the rug, and the evening is quiet for once.

Care
- Brush off fur with a lint brush or a damp hand.
- Wipe marks with a damp cloth and a little mild soap.
- Let the felt dry fully before folding it away.
- Store it flat or rolled loosely.
Questions about the cat tunnel
Do cats like tunnels?
Most do. Tunnels give cats a place to hide and pounce from, which matches how they hunt. Peepholes add more to do, because your cat can watch and reach out through them.
Can the tunnel lie flat?
Yes. Unfasten the edge and it opens into a flat felt panel. Use it as a play mat or a resting pad, then fasten it again for tunnel games.
Is the felt tunnel washable?
Wipe it with a damp cloth and a little mild soap, or brush off loose fur. Let the felt dry fully before you fold or store it.
Can two cats play in it?
Yes. One cat inside and one outside is the classic game. They bat at each other through the peepholes. Supervise the first few sessions with cats who are still getting to know each other.
Can a small dog use the tunnel?
Small dogs and puppies can play in it under supervision. Larger dogs may not fit, and dogs who chew felt should not be left alone with it.
Is it suitable for kittens?
Yes. Kittens love to hide and pounce, and the felt is soft. Supervise young kittens during play and check the felt for any chewed edges.
